Spotlight: City Council President Chris Spurlin

"Council President Spurlin has lived in Oxford most of his life and has been married to his high school sweetheart, Terrie (Whitaker), for 31 years. Together they have three children (Ryan and his wife Laura, Kara and her husband Josh, and Kaylee, a student at Oxford City Schools) and a grandchild. Prior to becoming a council member, he served the city in several different ways. Spurlin was an Oxford police officer for 7 ½ years, and has been serving as the chaplain for the Oxford Fire Department for over a decade."
